Chicago native. Attended Mt. Carmel High School and Roosevelt University on Michigan Ave. Served as a sport's stringer for the Daily Calumet and Southtown Economist newspapers.Saw Ryne Sandburg, Jody Davis and Andre Dawson in Wrigley Field while working in the Loop. Joined the U.S. Army as a Medic and later changed his specialty to Public Affairs and Broadcast/Written Journalism. While in the Army, won dozens of writing and broadcast awards to include a scholarship fund for being the Soldier of the Year in the journalism field. Deployed to Bosnia and later in 2005 to Afghanistan with 7th Special Forces Group as escort to Tom Brokaw of NBC News. Last job was serving as the Senior Army Journalist in the Pacific. Retired after 21 years on Active Duty in 2012; now lives with his family in Hawaii, traveling often around the Pacific and to the mainland while writing about his passion: The Chicago Cubs.
