Relax, it's okay, we can all finally breathe. Kyle Tucker has broken out of his spring training slump in the best way possible. In case you missed it, the All-Star outfielder not only broke his lengthy hitless streak, but did so by going yard against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday afternoon.

Tucker headed into Sunday's game against the Giants in a 0-for-19 hole to begin the spring and it had started to become a bit of a concern for fans. Luckily, that slump is no more, and Sunday may get Tucker kickstarted for the rest of the spring. The boys in the dugout had a nice treat for Tucker after his first hit of the spring, as they gave him the silent treatment when he returned to the dugout.

With just eight days remaining until the two-game Tokyo Series against the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, Tucker has just a limited amount of action left before regular season games begin.
This has been, hands down, the worst spring of Tucker's career - and one wonders if it's just a matter of trying to do too much with a new team or just an unfortunate coincidence. Last spring, ahead of his monster half-season in Houston, he put up a .952 OPS in the Grapefruit League. Meanwhile, even with Sunday's streak-snapping homer, he sits at a .412 mark.
With a huge weight lifted off his shoulders after his first hit and home run in a Cubs uniform, the hope is that Tucker will get into a groove and find the same form he had in 2024 when he hit 23 homers in just 78 games. Given the likelihood this could be a one-and-done with Chicago, fans obviously want to see him move the needle on a daily basis - so hopefully this helps everyone calm down a bit.
With all of the hot bats that Cubs players are currently swinging, the emergence of Tucker's bat is a welcome sight as the team packs its bags and gets ready to head overseas this week.
