For the first time since 2017, the Chicago Cubs have won a postseason series. After taking down the San Diego Padres to close out the Wild Card Series, the Cubs have a date with the division rival Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Division Series, which kicks off on Saturday at American Family Field.
The NLDS, which is a best-of-five, will start with two games in Milwaukee before shifting to Chicago for Game 3 and, if needed, Game 4. Should the series push to a winner-take-all Game 5, it would be held in Milwaukee.
We don't have all the details yet, but MLB has announced start times for Games 1 and 2, along with some additional information, including broadcast details and dates for the rest of the series. Here's what you need to know.
When do the Cubs play in the NLDS? What channel are NLDS games on?
Game 1: Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers | Saturday, October 4 | 1:08 pm CT
The Cubs and Brewers kick off a full day of Division Series action on Saturday with an early afternoon start - a 1:08 pm CT first pitch from Milwaukee. The game will be carried on TBS and HBO Max and the Cubs' radio home, 670 The Score, will have the broadcast, as well.
Game 2: Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers | Monday, October 6 | 8:08 pm CT
The NL Central's top two teams take the primetime slot on Monday for Game 2, slated for an 8:08 pm CT first pitch. The game can be watched on TBS, truTV and HBO Max - and Hall of Famer Pat Hughes will have the radio call on 670 AM.
Game 3: Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs | Wednesday, October 8 | TBD
After a travel day on Tuesday (which, thankfully for both teams, is about as easy as imaginable for a postseason series), the series shifts back to Wrigley Field for Game 3 - the only NLDS game we're guaranteed to get in Wrigleyville at this point. There is no announced start time yet, but the game can be seen on TBS, truTV and HBO Max - and the radio call is on 670 WSCR.
Game 4 (if needed): Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs | Thursday, October 9 | TBD
If there's a Game 4 next Thursday (10/9), Wrigley Field will play host once again. There's no start time yet; once we get into the later portions of the NLDS, the league waits to see how other series are playing out so they can flex start times. We'll learn more as it gets closer. Same story broadcast-wise: TBS, truTV, HBO Max and 670 The Score.
Game 5 (if needed): Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers | Saturday, October 11 | TBD
I don't know if I can mentally handle this scenario. But should the Cubs and Brewers split the first four games, the series goes back to Milwaukee for a do-or-die Game 5 at American Family Field. Again, no start times here, but you can see the action on TBS, truTV and HBO Max.
