Ahead of Game 2 of the National League Wild Card series between the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres, Major League Baseball released the broadcast schedule for the first two days of the NLDS this weekend. With one more victory over the Padres, the Cubs will renew their National League Central rivalry with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Every Cubs fan circled this possible NLDS matchup after MLB update

We know that a potential Game 1 between the Cubs will be on Saturday, but the exact time has yet to be revealed. If the New York Yankees, who lost Game 1 of their American League Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox, advance, the Cubs and Brewers will be the first game of the division series slate on Saturday at 1:08 pm CT. If the Red Sox win, Game 1 of the NLDS involving the Brewers would be at 8:08 pm CT.

As a reminder, with the Brewers earning the top seed in the National League, they will have home-field advantage in the NLDS. A potential NLDS between the Cubs and Brewers would be one of the most cinematic series of the entire playoff schedule. Looking for an excuse to be the underdog, the Brewers would be facing their former manager, Craig Counsell, in an effort to prove that they can finally convert their regular-season success into success in October. Meanwhile, for the Cubs, giving Counsell the richest managerial contract in the history of baseball, it's a chance to validate their decision to move on from David Ross.

Despite the Brewers winning the National League Central title, the Cubs got the better of their division counterpart during the regular season. The Cubs had a record of 7-6 against the Brewers during the regular season, and it served as a reminder that despite looking invincible at certain points this season, Milwaukee can still be had.

One win away from advancing to the NLDS, there is a looming decision for the Cubs and their Game 1 option against the Milwaukee Brewers. Assuming he doesn't pitch on Wednesday or in a decisive Game 3 against the Padres on Thursday, Jameson Taillon could get the nod.
