With the Midsummer Classic on the horizon, Major League Baseball released its first update on the standings of fan voting for the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta. After the first wave of voting, several Chicago Cubs players find themselves at or within striking distance of the top spot in their respective positions.

To the surprise of no one, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani each lead the American and National Leagues, respectively, with Judge putting up one of the best offensive seasons in recent memory, while Ohtani continues to mash the ball as a DH while also returning to the mound for the first time since 2023 on Monday night.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Tucker lead the Cubs' All-Star charge

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker occupy the top two spots of the NL outfield vote, with Crow-Armstrong currently sitting in fourth in the NL with 1,126,119 votes as he continues his MVP-caliber season. Tucker, meanwhile, is enjoying a superb debut season in Chicago, with his 2.9 fWAR ranking seventh in the National League.

Michael Busch (first base), Seiya Suzuki (DH) and Nico Hoerner (second base) find themselves each in third place in their respective positions, with Suzuki slotting down a notch with Rafael Devers moving over to the NL after being acquired by the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Each of them will be looking for their first-career All-Star nomination.

On the left side of the infield, Dansby Swanson, one of three All-Stars for the Cubs in 2023, is fifth in shortstop voting, while Matt Shaw’s recent success has him up to fourth place at third base.

Last in the top five for the Cubs is Carson Kelly, who, despite his significant fall-off, still finds himself in second in catcher voting, only behind Will Smith from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Finally, sitting just outside the top 10 in the outfield is Ian Happ, who made his All-Star Game debut in 2022. Happ is currently in eleventh place in outfield voting in the midst of another steady season with the Cubs.

Phase one of the MLB Fan Vote comes to a close on June 26 and will determine the starters from both leagues, with full rosters being revealed on July 6. The All-Star Game will take place on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
