The Chicago Cubs have seen quite a bit of shakeup this offseason and they likely aren't finished.
With the trade for Kyle Tucker sending multiple players to the Astros, to letting multiple players who played significant time for them last season leave in free agency, the Cubs will look different next season. Two of those players who were let to leave are former fan favorites David Bote and Patrick Wisdom. With the offseason moving along both have already found homes for next season.
David Bote was one of the few Cubs players in the last decade to sign an extension with the team. The extension didn't quite go as Cubs fans wanted it to, but that doesn't change the love fans had for him. Bote was well known for his walk-off grand slam against the Nationals in 2018, Bote never lived up to his first two seasons with the Cubs.
Bote signed a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It is a minor league deal that includes an invite to major league spring training. Bote can be a useful member of the Dodgers organization, even if he doesn't make the big league roster.
Cubs News: Patrick Wisdom, David Bote find new teams
Another fan favorite that will be playing somewhere else next season is Patrick Wisdom. Wisdom came up to the Cubs in the summer of 2021, he had a hot streak the likes of which we haven't seen many times. He hit 8 home runs in 38 at-bats and it was an extremely fun thing to watch. He wasn't able to carry that over into a full-time position for the Cubs, but he was loved nonetheless.
Wisdom will be taking his power over to Korea and playing for the reigning KBO champs, the Kia Tigers. Wisdom will likely hit a bunch of home runs for the Tigers and become a fan favorite there as he was here.
