Chicago Cubs' World Series heroes Anthony Rizzo and David Ross have reunited for a brand new podcast focused on the 2016 season, and boy, the first episode was packed with incredible new stories.
Lovable Reunion is a must-listen for Cubs fans as Rizzo and Ross pulled the curtain back on the culture of the 2016 team, complete with stories about parties, bloody mary bars, and a couple of heated dugout disputes between the pair. But Rizzo also revealed a hilarious tale from before Game 7 of the World Series, where he made the team watch Rocky in the locker room while he danced naked on a table.
When it’s been over a century since you’ve won a World Series you’ve gotta put it ALL on the line 😅

Anthony Rizzo's latest story is a reminder that he was the unsung leader of the 2016 Chicago Cubs.
Rizzo said he started the Rocky binge to rally the team after the Cubs went down 3-1 in the World Series against Cleveland. Even in that moment, Ross showed his...wisdom, convincing Rizzo to continue the bit after an awkward exchange with Hector Rendon. It worked! The Cubs went on to win three straight games with the help of Rizzo's antics and win the series after that Game 7 nail-biter.
Rizzo said the next episode will feature an interview with former Cubs manager Joe Maddon, who has always received high praise for allowing the team to let loose and be themselves. I'm sure that interview will be chock-full of more stories like Rizzo's naked Rocky dance, as Maddon always has something interesting to say or a creative perspective on baseball.
Rizzo and Ross said they would be interviewing multiple members of the 2016 team, like Jason Heyward, John Lackey, and former President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein. It's a perfect way to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the World Series, and it will likely be the most comprehensive look at the historic season from the guys who made it happen.
It's also nice to see Ross back in Wrigleyville after the team fired him as manager and replaced him with Craig Counsell, which was only briefly mentioned in the first episode.
