Alex Bregman has nothing but praise for budding Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong

A big statement from the two-time champ.

The Chicago Cubs expect Alex Bregman to be a difference-maker between the lines. That's why they handed him the third-largest contract in franchise history this winter - but he was such a focal point for the front office because of what he does off the field as much as what he does on it.

In one year in Boston, he drew rave reviews from young Red Sox players, mirroring his reputation as a two-time World Series champion in Houston. Now, he comes to Chicago looking to win a third ring and take a team that won 92 games and fell one win shy of the NLCS last season to the next level.

If that's going to happen, Bregman and the Cubs know Pete Crow-Armstrong wil need to lead the charge - and that's not a concern in Bregman's mind.

"I think the sky's the limit for him. I feel like he can do anything on the baseball field. I feel like the more he refines his game, he's going to continue to get better and better and better ... I feel like he's going to have an unbelievable year - he's focused on all the right things."

Alex Bregman is ready to help Pete Crow-Armstrong elevate his game

I don't need to remind Cubs fans the ups and downs of Crow-Armstrong's 2025 season. A legitimate MVP threat in the first half, he went into an offensive tailspin down the stretch, which left a hole in the Chicago lineup, especially considering Kyle Tucker was battling injuries and ineffectiveness during that stretch.

PCA has a very high floor thanks to his elite defense, speed and baserunning abilities. But if he can be a threat at the plate, he quickly becomes not just one of the best players on the Cubs, but in all of baseball. He's hoping to continue to make adjustments and learn from Bregman as he sets the stage for what we all hope will be a big 2026 season.

“Breggy’s awesome,” Crow-Armstrong told MLB.com. “I’m really excited to spend some serious time with him. The guy is super enthusiastic about the intricacies of the game. I’ve loved hearing him share his experiences in the past. I think he’s going to make me and the whole squad a whole lot better.”
