Chicago Cubs: Another chance to showcase the ability

Alzolay is the other representative for the Cubs in this year’s All-Star Futures Game. As the number four overall prospect, as well as a player who has seen a minute sample size in the majors, the Future’s game, is a perfect place for Alzolay to show his stuff.

Throughout his minor league career, Alzolay has been a bit of a mixed bag with potential to break out at any given moment. He has pitched exceptionally well at times and horrendously bad during other times. That being said, it will be exciting for the 24-year-old right-hander to represent his team during All-Star weekend.

Through his first three games at the major league level, including two starts, Alzolay has a 7.53 ERA. His first two appearances saw him pitch well by limiting runs. However, he was introduced to a rude awakening in the second start of his career. Moving past that yet, seeing Alzolay as a representative for the World Futures and at Amaya’s side will be a great thing for fans.
