Chicago Cubs: Ronnier Quintero, C, No.6 ranked prospect

Hailing from Venezuela, Quintero is impressive. He is ranked as the top catching prospect in the 2019 international class and for a good reason.

When you watch him behind the dish as well as in the box, it is almost as though we are watching a young Willson Contreras. Contreras is, of course, also from Venezuela which should only be a boon to the young Quintero in helping to develop a lasting bond.

Quintero hits from the left side of the plate. He possesses a smooth upright swing with a leg kick and displays effortless power in driving the ball. In terms of his defensive ability, Quintero shows a knack for a quick pop in his throws and his arm strength is equivalent to that of a major league catcher.

Just 16 years old, Quintero stands at an even six feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. He should only continue to become stronger as he gets older and already shows an affinity as a catcher who will one day make his mark in the big leagues.

For fans who know Quintero and who will get to know him, they should be excited at his future prospect, and this could end up being the most significant signing at the position since Contreras.

Needless to say, Quintero was worth breaking the bank.
