There’s something that the Chicago Cubs have over the Milwaukee Brewers as of late. The Cubs continued their stretch over the Brew, winning seven of their last eight.
The Chicago Cubs’ Jose Quintana was magnificent as he went seven innings without allowing a run. The Cubs bullpen came in, with Pedro Strop getting the first four, while Brian Duensing and Steve Cishek got the last two for the win. The offense was, unique, to say the least. Javier Baez put one into short right, and it fell giving him an RBI. Then Tommy La Stella hit one into left to score one–and then two. Jason Heyward came around third, hoping that Orlando Arcia would give him an opening. He did, and Heyward came into score to make it 3-0.
As we watch the Cubs win, we can’t forget about the young kids in the system. We take a look at Adbert Alzolay, the Cubs current top prospect in the system. We also take a look at Aramis Ademan, Jose Albertos, Oscar De La Cruz and Alex Lange. These kids are young and have the potential to be something very special for the Cubs.
When we got Brandon Morrow, I’m not sure what we thought he would be. But it’s clear that the new closer is leaps and bounds ahead of where we thought. Morrow is a perfect 6/6 and has shown no chances of letting up. It’s a tough road to be a closer, but Morrow seems to have what it takes. So let’s just take it all in as he keeps doing his thing.
