The 33rd annual Cubs Convention will kick off Friday night as fans crowd the Sheraton downtown to celebrate another year of Chicago Cubs baseball.

For the first time ever – I’ll get a taste of Cubs Convention. The Chicago Cubs’ annual celebration gets underway Friday night at the Sheraton in downtown Chicago, kicking off what will undoubtedly be an exciting weekend in the Windy City – at least for Cubs fans.

We’ll be bringing you plenty of video and images from CubsCon – and, hopefully, a lot more. Could Theo Epstein have a big announcement up his sleeve for the event? With virtually all the major free agents still on the market, there’s definitely a possibility of such a move.

With just over a month till Spring Training and no Hot Stove news to speak of, we’re all getting restless. According to a report, Yu Darvish turned down a seven-year, $160 million offer from the New York Yankees. I can’t imagine this is remotely accurate, but that’s the word on the virtual street.

Here at the Crib, we broke down Ben Zobrist as a potential leadoff man for the Cubs in 2018. Of course, that means sacrificing the defense of either Javier Baez or Addison Russell, so it seems like a bit of a long-shot. Could Mike Montgomery become trade bait as the season progresses? And, as noted above, don’t sleep on Theo. If you haven’t learned that by now, I don’t know what to tell you.
