Now that construction is complete on The Park at Wrigley, the Chicago Cubs can continue their winter festivities outside the park.

For the last several years, the Chicago Cubs celebrated the holidays with a Christmas tree and skating rink. That didn’t happen last year due to the construction of The Park at Wrigley. Now that it’s complete, the Cubs are geared up for another excellent holiday season, which will be known as Winterland at The Park.

Rink at the Park

The Cubs will kick off the winter season with the return of the ice skating rink. Now known as The Rink at the Park, the 8,000 square foot ice rink will open Friday, November 24th. The rink will be open daily thru February 25th.  Festive twinkle lights and glass dasher boards will adorn the Rink at the Park, which has become a winter staple at Wrigley for several years.  Admission is $5 for adults 13 and up. Kids 12 and under are free. Skate rentals are $10.

The rink will be open Monday-Thursday from 3pm-9pm, Fridays from 3pm-11pm, Saturdays from 11am-11pm and Sundays from 11am-9pm. They will also have special hours on certain holidays.

Christkindlmarket

The Park at Wrigley becomes the third location in Chicago to host the popular Christkindlmarket. The Christkindlmarket opens on Friday with the skating rink and will be open daily through the end of the year. Christkindlmarket is a holiday village rooted in rich German tradition and features mugs, apple cider, hot chocolate, gifts and more.

The Christkindlmarket is open Sunday-Thursday from 11 am-8 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11am-9pm. The market will be closed on Christmas Day. For a full list of vendors and special events, visit www.christkindlmarket.com/ParkatWrigley

Tree Lighting

The Cubs annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 28th at 6 pm. This year, the tree will be a 28′ Colorado Spruce from Kaneville Tree Farms. It will feature 2,700 lights and serve as the main focal point of the Park at Wrigley’s Winterland. The Cubs will also have a menorah at the Park. A full schedule of events for the tree lighting ceremony will be announced later.

Santa’s Workshop will also be at The Park starting on Tuesday, November 28th. Santa’s Workshop will only be open weekends. On Fridays, it will be open 3 pm-8 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-5pm. The Cubs will host a Dog Day on December 10th, where you can bring your dog to Santa’s workshop.

Santa will also be making an appearance at Lucky Door Patio & Tap one hour after his workshop closes on Fridays and Saturdays. Adults 21 and over can enjoy a beverage and tell there wishes to Santa during this time.
