Former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross honored his family and teammates in his latest Dancing with the Stars performance, dancing to his 2016 walk-up song ‘Forever Young.’

It couldn’t have been written any better. On the night the Chicago Cubs hoisted their 2016 World Series pennant at Wrigley Field, David Ross looked back at his time with the team on Dancing with the Stars.

This week, all the stars’ performances were dedicated to their most memorable year. For Ross, it was 2016 – the year he helped break a century-old curse, hit his 100th career home run, caught a no-hitter – and, most importantly, become a full-time dad.

Dancing a Viennese waltz, Ross and his partner Lindsay Arnold put on a very different performance from just a week prior. A classic, elegant routine, the couple did last year’s team justice – in more ways than one.

A visibly choked up Ross received strong feedback from the judges.

"“It was so beautiful,” said judge Julianne Hough. “Your spirit, your energy is always so infectious … I love this team.”"

All the judges criticized the team’s lack of flow in the routine, but called him ‘uplifting’ and ‘dynamic’ during their comments.

When all was said and done, though, Ross and Arnold impressed: 7-8-8-8. This makes two weeks-straight they’ve notched a 31/40 as a final score.

Ross and Arnold will dance again next week on Disney Week. Do I hear David Ross as Peter Pan? I mean, he already exudes a youthful exuberance. That should happen.
