Every week, I say that Chicago Cubs’ David Ross can’t surprise any more with his dancing. But, this week, he danced as a stripper on Dancing with the Stars. Suffice to say, I have some thoughts.

Where to start, where to start… Well, if I needed something to get the taste of a Chicago Cubs’ Opening Night loss out of my mouth, David Ross gave me something. Wait, hang on a second.

That came out wrong.

Performing to 50 Cent’s ‘Candy Shop,’ Ross took part in a ‘Magic Mike Live’ audition, with his partner Lindsay Arnold acting as the judge. And, as much as I expected it to lack content, it was one of the best performances he’s put together to-date.

A shirtless, pantless David Ross. Yep, that’s what I needed to help me move past the start of another week. If there’s anyone capable of pulling off such a routine, it’s the fan favorite who knows a little something about the big stage.

This is a testament to the talent of not only Ross, but Arnold. The 23-year-old professional showed just how good of a choreographer she is with this routine. It allowed Ross to steal the show, largely performing alone, capturing the attention of everyone.

Even Chicago Cubs’ first baseman Anthony Rizzo.

Ross scored 8-7-8-8 for a score of 31, placing him near the top of the leaderboard for Week 3. Next week, Ross and Arnold take on a week dedicated to the best year of the celebrity’s life.

Will Ross do a number to ‘Forever Young’ as tribute to last year’s World Series title? I wouldn’t rule it out – that’s for sure.

Ross and Arnold avoided elimination for another week. Meanwhile, Charo and Keo Motsepe found themselves on the chopping block, ending their brief Dancing with the Stars run.
