We’re only a few days out from the 2017 Chicago Cubs Convention which is held at the Sheraton Hotel. Current players and alumni will be in attendance, celebrating what was a World Series campaign.
The hype behind this year’s Chicago Cubs Convention is unreal. Obviously, there hasn’t been one World Series celebration at this specific event but this year is going to be different. Honestly, I can’t wait to see the video package that will open things up on Friday.
Speaking of Friday, it was announced on CSN Chicago’s official Twitter account that they will be streaming the first two hours. That’s right, if you’re one of the few unlucky millions of fans who are unable to attend, you get to watch two hours.
At least, if you live in the area that carries Comcast Sports Net Chicago. I know most of you are out of the market but surely, it’ll be shown on their website as well.

The fact that CSN Chicago has decided to show the first two hours is absolutely huge. Being able to sit at home and experience a taste of the event is more than enough. Although, it would be better to be there in person.
However, tickets for this Convention sold out rather quickly. Either that or people are buying passes and selling them on third-party websites for a massive price tag.
Special Guests
Other than Joe Maddon and his World Series roster attending the event, other names have been revealed thanks to Brett Taylor of Bleacher Nation. Hat tip to Brett and those from Bleacher Nation.
Names such as David Ross, Ted Lilly, Bill Madlock, Sean Marshall, Ryne Sandberg, Lee Smith, Todd Walker, Kerry Wood, Billy Williams, and Glendon Rusch are scheduled to be there starting Friday.
But that’s not all, Fergie Jenkins, Ryan Dempster, Jody Davis, and former catcher, John Baker. Baker, if you remember, pitched a scoreless 16th inning and even got someone to ground into a double-play.

He would later walk and come around to score with the bases loaded. Also, that game against the Colorado Rockies is the longest game in Cubs history.
I know that’s hard to believe but it’s still in the record books. Baker’s run with the Cubs was short-lived as he soon moved on with the Seattle Mariners.
He was later released and will now be a part of the Cubs Convention.
