It seemed in bad taste to talk about the Chicago Cubs being in the playoffs before they actually had made it. But now that they’re in we’ve got plenty to talk about.

The Chicago Cubs had to wait a day for the celebration, but it was well worth it. A walk-off blast from Miguel Montero in the 10th gave the Cubs reason to celebrate. After waiting to see the final of the Cardinals score on Thursday night, the party was planned. The walk-off win just made it feel more legitimate. Now that the Cubs are in, the speculation will begin. Who’s in? Who’s out?

The rotation has been and will be a key talking point leading up to the NLDS. The Cubs added John Lackey to give them that third option in the playoffs. Little did they know that Kyle Hendricks was going to breakout this year. Along with Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester, the discussion will be an interesting one.

As if things weren’t going to be hard enough for Joe Maddon, the bench players are making their case for the postseason as well. Montero’s walk-off, a three-hit game from Chris Coghlan, and a solid pair of games from Albert Almora will give him something to think about as he builds this roster.
