If you’ve been paying attention to the Chicago Cubs over the past few months, you are well aware of all the talent that they have on both the 25-man roster and their farm system.
After signing Jason Heyward and center fielder Dexter Fowler, knowing that either Jorge Soler or Kyle Schwarber will be coming off the bench has to be scary for opposing managers. How do you prepare for a team that has so many weapons available on and off the field?
There’s no doubt that this is going to be an exciting season for the North Siders are they enter the 2016 campaign as the favorites to win the World Series. But will playing time become an issue for those who represent this franchise?
Aside from the two young sluggers that were mentioned in the beginning of this article, infielder Javier Baez is expected to be a key piece to their postseason run despite coming off the bench.

Considering how often Maddon switches up the lineup, there shouldn’t be an issue when it comes to playing time for anybody on the roster. Including guys who may be called up throughout the year.
Remember, Baez played a few games in the outfield over the winter and N.L. Rookie of the Year winner Kris Bryant made a few appearances in 2015 as well.
As ESPN Chicago’s own Jesse Rogers points out in his article that was posted yesterday afternoon, Maddon has some deep talent and will keep the Cubs fresh.
From someone going into a slump or Maddon following through with a game plan depending on the match-up, everything is going to be just fine.
