The Chicago Cubs are projected to post the most wins in baseball in 2016 by Fangraphs; MiLB salaries continue to be low, and an increase could benefit teams.

Fangraphs has made its first wave of projections for the 2016 season, and the

Chicago Cubs

are predicted to win more games than anybody else in baseball. Several individuals a forecasted for big years, and the Cubs pitching staff looks to be a big reason for the big prediction. Be sure to check out how the rest of the league is expected to play out.

Minor league salaries have always been notoriously low–especially when compared to that of the Major League’s annual salaries. But would an increase in pay help with an increase in performance? Better paid players could lead to better fed and better-rested players, resulting in improved results.

The bidding for Cuban pitcher Yasiel Sierra has ended with the Los Angeles Dodgers as the winner. The Cubs were thought to be one of the other teams making a final push, reportedly signed for near $300 million for six or seven years. The 25-year-old is expected to be groomed as a starter, but only time will tell on that front.
