Alright, we all know about the infamous curse of the ‘Billy Goat’ that was placed on the Chicago Cubs on Oct. 6, 1945 by William Sianis when his pet goat, Murphy, was denied access to Game 4 of the World Series.
Since then, the Cubs haven’t won a World Series in over a hundred years — something us fans have been hearing about since we were born. It’s never going to go away until this team finally brings home that trophy.

With the third place North Siders making a strong push for the postseason in 2015, a handful of well-known competitive eaters came together in the Windy City to help or at least attempt to reverse the curse that has haunted us for many years.
Guys such as Takeru Kobayashi, Kevin Strahle aka The L.A. Beast, Pat ‘Deepdish’ Bertoletti, Bob Shoudt aka Notorious B.O.B., and Tim ‘Gravy’ Brown scarfed down an entire 40 lbs of cooked goat.
Yes, you read that correctly — they devoured 40 lbs of goat meat in 11 minutes and 22 seconds.
Each and every one of the men in the video below is well-known in the world of competitive eating.
It’s like baseball, but instead of seeing who can score the most runs before the final three outs of the game are recorded, a select few come together to see who can eat the most in the least amount of time.

Before tonight’s game, the Cubs have a 99% chance of making the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 campaign when they won the division and found themselves getting swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
I remember when the Cubs brought in Rev. James L. Greanias to bless Chicago’s dugout before Game 1 of that dreadful series against the Dodgers.
The closest this club came to reaching the World Series was back in 2003 when they met up with the Florida Marlins and were only a handful of outs away from meeting up with the New York Yankees.
Still, til this day, it’s painful to reflect back on that dreadful day without feeling sick to your stomach. But the times have changed and this year’s club has a ton of firepower in their lineup and a manager who has worked extremely well with the group of young talent he inherited last winter.
