Cubs Going After Chan-Ho Park
Last year, the Cubs and Rays went head to head in a bidding war for the services of Milton Bradley. As we all know the Cubs won the War, but in the end the Rays were the ones laughing. But to make this all relevant, the Cubs and Rays are once again locked into another bidding war, this time it is for 36 year old reliever Chan Ho Park. *Note, the bidding will not be as high as the Milton Bradley one was last year.
Park, who was a member of the national league champion Phillies last year, struggled as a starter as he posted a 7.23 ERA last year as a Starter at first, but then he was moved to the bullpen and had a much better 2.52 ERA.
Park, though really is not the late inning reliever that the Cubs would prefer, but he would provide versatility for the Cubs as he could be a middle reliever, as well as a spot starter for the Cubs.
Park could be the Cubs top choice via free agency, as they have already downplayed their Interest in Kiko Calero.
