The Philadelphia Phillies have been hot lately, going 7-3 in their last 10 games and are on the verge of sweeping the Chicago Cubs tonight.

But, let's not go ahead and blindly bet the Phillies. In fact, I think the Cubs have a great chance to win tonight.

Let's dive into the odds for the game and then I'll break down why Chicago is the bet to make.

Phillies vs. Cubs prediction and pick

People forget the dominant 2020 season Kyle Hendricks had. He was one of the best pitchers in the Majors in the shortened campaign with a 2.88 ERA.

Sure, it was a short season due to COVID, but he is showing signs that he's returning to that form this season. He has a 2.60 ERA through his first six starts while also recording a sub-1.000 WHIP.

Taijuan Walker gets the start for the Phillies, and while he's had a fantastic June, I think he's due for some significant regression. He enters the game with a 4.51 FIP (Field Independent Pitching), but what's even more significant is his 1.236 FIP.

He's also recording 3.5 walks per nine innings, which is bad news against a Cubs team that ranks third in the majors in walk rate at 9.7%. That'll prove costly for the Phillies tonight.

I'll take the Cubs as home underdogs to prevent the series sweep.
