The Cubs won a low scoring matchup in extra innings at Wrigley Field on Monday against the Mariners, can they make it two straight?

The Cubbies will send out Hayden Wesneski on Tuesday to hold off a playoff team from last season in the Mariners, but Seattle has struggled quite a bit this season, just 4-7 on the year. The visiting team will try to get back on track with Chris Flexen on the mound.

I believe the Cubs should be more of a considerable favorite at home when they have been the better team at the plate and have the more promising pitcher on the mound.

Wesneski struggled in his first start of the season last week, allowing three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings of work, but he showed his upside last season when he was a late season call up and posted a 2.18 ERA in six appearances. He is backed by a lineup that is top 10 in batting average through the early portion of the season, hitting .269.

Meanwhile, the Mariners are not performing as well as they had hoped early on. The team is a few games below .500 mainly because of its inability to string together hits, just .229 on the year. While the team has high end talent like Julio Rodriguez at the top of the lineup, the roster isn't performing at the plate.

The visitors will hope Chris Flexen can keep the Cubs off the base paths. He is a quality back end rotation arm at this point, he has a 3.64 ERA in his third season with the club, but I don't think he deserves this price on the road while the team slumps out of the gates.
