Dodgers vs. Cubs prediction and odds for Sunday, April 23 (Chicago continues to be undervalued)
By Reed Wallach

The Cubs would love to split a four game series against the Dodgers after already taking two of three from Los Angeles earlier this month, and will lean on its best pitcher in Marcus Stroman.
Stroman has been on point this season, he's allowed only two earned runs in 24 innings so far this season. While he will certainly regress at some point, I believe the Dodgers are still being overvalued at the plate based on its name brand more than it's production.
Here are the odds for Sunday's matchup:

Dodgers vs. Cubs prediction and pick
Stroman has been lights out this season, and the Dodgers offense has been anything but. The team is reliant on home runs, second in the big leagues at going deep, but Stroman is a ground ball pitcher that is consistently one of the best at limiting home runs, allowing less than one per nine innings over his career.
If the Dodgers' aren't cracking home runs, then it'll be tough sledding in terms of generating runs. Los Angeles is hitting just .229 as a group so far this season, so I can see Stroman having a matchup advantage.
LA will have a formidable counter to Stroman with future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw on the mound. However, this is a good matchup for the Cubbies, who have feasted on southpaws this season, posting the second best batting average in baseball at .307.
I see too many matchup edges for the Cubs at home not to back them as home underdogs. The Dodgers simply aren't as dominant as they've been in the past and Chicago is playing well above its preseason expectations so far this year, especially with Stroman on the mound.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
