The Cubs head across the pond to London to start a series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Both teams are still in the mix in a crowded NL Central despite both under .500. The Cubs are much closer, five-and-a-half ahead of last year's division champs and will look to improve its standing in the division with some wins in London.

Here are the odds for the third baseball game played in London!

Cubs vs. Cardinals odds, run line and total

Cubs vs. Cardinals prediction and pick

There isn't a ton of data to go off of when it comes to team's playing in London, but the two games that featured the Yankees and Red Sox in 2019 had run totals of 30 and 20.

So I'm going to look to the double digit over as a worthwhile play at London Stadium, the same location as the two prior games.

It helps this over that Adam Wainwright is set to start for the Cardinals. The 41-year-old is far from a high level starter and is getting crushed by hard contact this season, posting a 5.56 ERA (6.11 xERA) and allowing a batting average of .342 on balls in play.

The Cubs should thrive at the plate against Wainwright, but I do think the conditions will make it tough for Justin Steele to maintain his season long form.

Steele's low ERA is kept up in part due to his low home run rate, posting a sub-5% home run to fly ball rate. However, this is a hitters ball park with 10 home runs combined across the two games. Steele can get crushed as well in a tough pitcher situation, and the fact that he may be on a pitch limit after making his second start after a stint on the injured list, this can be another 20+ run game.

Don't be bothered by the high total, go over.
