Despite a less-than-encouraging weather forecast, spirits are high in Wrigleyville as the Chicago Cubs open their 2024 home slate Monday afternoon against Kris Bryant and the lowly Colorado Rockies.

Chicago salvaged the finale in Arlington, avoiding a sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers, and now turn to one of the team's most prized offseason pick-ups, Shota Imanaga, in his MLB debut.

That alone should get folks fired up. But in case you needed a little extra juice, the Cubs social media team dropped an absolute heater of a hype video this morning, too. Honestly, it might be my favorite one they've ever done because it not only shows off some of the team's biggest stars - but it also ties in the iconic Wrigley Field scoreboard flawlessly.

Despite early season weather concerns, the Chicago Cubs have advantages playing at historic Wrigley Field

Winning is the expectation at this point. It has to be. Winning is great. But doing it in front of a full house at the most iconic ballpark in the game is just different. You hear it every year from players who've spent years with the Cubs and newcomers alike. The Friendly Confines offer a lot that other ballparks (and fanbases) just can't match - and this video captures that vibe perfectly.

Last season, Chicago went 45-36 at home, posting their best winning percentage at Wrigley in a full 162-game season since 2019. Under new manager Craig Counsell, maintaining that home cooking will be key if the team wants to bring the NL Central crown back to the North Side. If they can capture the energy seen in this video, they should be just fine.
