The Iowa Cubs beat the Indianapolis Indians 7-3

Iowa was pretty dominant yesterday. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and bumped it to 5-1 in the fourth before adding insurance runs in the fifth and the eighth. You would’ve liked to see more from the starting pitching performance but the bats got it done to come away victorious.

Yonathan Perlaza (OF) continued to beat down the door to the majors by going 2-for-5 with a double, a homer, four RBI, and a run scored.

Edwin Rios (3B) went 2-for-4 with a homer, a single, an RBI and a run scored.

Luis Vazquez (SS) racked up three hits in four at-bats with two doubles, a single, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Jordan Wicks (LHP) was the starter yesterday and went four innings allowing three runs on five hits but no walks and four strikeouts.

Nick Neidert (RHP) took the W with three scoreless innings in which he only allowed one hit, one walk, and struck out four.
