Cubs drop a new hype video that'll have you running through a wall

Postseason hopes are alive and well in Wrigleyville - as evidenced by the latest work of the Cubs social media team.

Inject this directly into my veins.

It's been a long time since we had cause for in-season hype videos, let alone post-trade deadline ones that turn an eye toward the postseason. But they're back. And the Cubs are back.

For two months now, Chicago has been one of the best teams in all of Major League Baseball. Their strong play leading up to the deadline prompted Jed Hoyer and Carter Hawkins to buy, rather than sell, acquiring Jeimer Candelario from the Nationals in a lineup-altering move that really bolstered the offense for the stretch run.

Cubs are riding high with their eyes set on the postseason

The Cubs made it through a grueling stretch of the schedule where they played 16 games in as many days, going 11-5 in the process. After a much-needed off-day following the Mets series, David Ross and the boys took the first two in Toronto, eyeing a sweep on Sunday before another off-day on Monday ahead of part II of the Crosstown Classic, this time at Wrigley.

Baseball Reference has the Cubs' postseason odds at just a tick under 80% at this point - and even Fangraphs is vibing with the North Siders, pegging their October odds at 60.4%. Those numbers are even more impressive when you look back to July 20 - less than a month ago - when Fangraphs had the Cubs' odds at just over 6%.

The vibes are high. Meaningful August and September baseball at the Federal Landmark is back. And with it, an energy amongst fans that's been sorely missed in recent years. We believe.
