Chicago Cubs Weather Update: Important series against Marlins starts on Friday

Last season, the Cubs lost too many times to bad teams, and it kept them out of the playoffs; this year has to be different.

The Chicago Cubs game against the Miami Marlins on Thursday night has been postponed due to inclement weather. The Cubs and Marlins will play a doubleheader on Saturday as part of their four-game series,

The 2024 Cubs team looks very different on the field from the 2023 team, but it’s incredibly important for that to remain true in this four-game series with the Miami Marlins.

In 2023 the Cubs entered a three-game series with the Marlins at the end of April and proceeded to drop all three of those games. They played them again two weeks later, and by May 7, they had dropped four out of six games to a bad baseball team.

In between those two Marlins’ series, the Cubs would also be swept by the Washington Nationals who had one of the worst records in baseball last season.

The Chicago Cubs have to take care of business against the Miami Marlins.

The team that took that final Wild Card spot (the Arizona Diamondbacks) would go on to represent the National League in the World Series.

Everyone makes the argument that you can’t make the playoffs in April but you can certainly miss them, and that was true for the Cubs last year. They lost too many games to bad teams and the opportunity to play October baseball was taken from them.

If the 2024 team wants to prove that they’re different they have to do what they did earlier this year to the Colorado Rockies.

Taking three out of four to win the series is a must, and a dominating sweep should absolutely be the goal. This team is capable of it, now it’s just time for them to prove it.
