Chicago Cubs fans, if nothing has gotten your attention yet, this just might do it.

Agent Scott Boras, known for speaking his mind and calling clubs and owners out on things we fans cannot, implies that Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts is finally ready to spend the money he has claimed to have for years. It is worth noting Boras represents the likes of Carlos Correa, Xander Bogaerts, and Carlos Rodon - all of who are at the top of the free agency list in their respective positions and have been involved in rumors with the Cubs.

Boras has previously been critical of Ricketts and his dusty wallet, most notably when his client Kris Bryant was in talks with the Cubs about an extension in the last 2-3 years of his time with the club. When that did not go through, he was not shy to point out who was standing in the way on that one. The fact that he is endorsing what we are hearing is the best news this fan base has heard in quite some time.

The clock is ticking on this window. Any of these top targets could sign a contract at any given moment. The Cubs are in the thick of it, and all signs are leading towards the Cubs not coming out of this empty handed.
