Probable Starting Pitchers

Making his third start of the season for the Chicago Cubs is Hayden Wesneski. Wesneski has struggled to start the season and this is the first time that the Cubs' rookie starting pitcher has faced adversity at the Major League level since first making his debut toward the end of the 2022 season. In his start against the Seattle Mariners last week, Wesneski had no command of his slider, and that led to an awful outing. Wesneski walked 4 in a tick over 1 inning pitched last Tuesday against the Mariners while giving up 7 (2 earned) runs on 5 hits.

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Muller will be making the start for the Oakland Athletics. On the season, Muller has allowed 9 runs on 15 hits and 7 walks through 14.2 innings pitched.
