The Chicago Cubs will look to make it three of four against the Miami Marlins on Sunday as the teams play the final game of their four-game set.
The two teams split a doubleheader on Saturday where after Adbert Alzolay blew his fourth save on the season in Game 1, veteran Hector Neris got the save opportunity in Game 2 and was able to secure the victory for the Cubs. Moving forward, it seems clear that the Cubs' have a closer problem and is one that needs to be addressed because the team can not afford to blow the amount of games that they have already.
Probable starting pitchers
- Kyle Hendricks is on the mound for the Cubs on Sunday and it goes without saying that it is an important start. Hendricks has struggled to open the season with an ERA of 12.71 through his first four starts. While the Cubs have committed to Hendricks remaining in the rotation, Jed Hoyer did admit there is some concern that exists. If Hendricks' struggles continue on Sunday against a Marlins' team that he should find some success against, the calls to remove him from the rotation will only grow louder.
- Making the start for the Marlins on Sunday is right-hander Edward Cabrera. Cabrera was excellent in his first start of the season as he went 6 while striking out 10 and only allowing 1 run against the San Francisco Giants last Monday.
