The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Columbia Fireflies 5-0
The Pelicans came away with the W in this one through just five innings. We still had some solid offensive performances despite significantly less opportunity and the Pelicans are in great shape as the season continues at 13 games over .500.
Reivaj García (1B) went 2-for-3 with two singles and a run scored to bring his batting average on the season up to .295.
Parker Chavers (OF) went 1-for-2 with a single, a walk, an RBI and a run scored.
Jefferson Rojas (SS) continued to outperform the more highly-touted Cristian Hernandez by going 2-for-3 with two singles, an RBI and a run scored.
Marino Santy (LHP) had the five-inning shutout in this one. He didn’t allow a hit and issued three walks while striking out eight.
