Tennessee Smokies (AA) (51-38)

The Tennessee Smokies lost to the Mississippi Braves 3-1

There wasn’t much to talk about in this one. The Smokies were held scoreless until they tied it up in the bottom of the eighth inning and then they gave up two more runs to put the game out of reach in the top of the ninth inning. The most notable thing was probably Pete Crow-Armstrong being held off base for the entire game, taking an 0-for-4.

Haydn McGeary (1B) went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Jordan Nwogu (OF) went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored but he also struck out twice.

DJ Herz (LHP) was very strong. He went five innings and only allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks while striking out eight.

Brailyn Marquez (LHP) wasn’t as dominant as his previous appearances but he kept the ERA at 0.00 by allowing no runs in an inning of work giving up two walks and a hit.
