Tennessee Smokies (AA) (56-42)

The Tennessee Smokies lost to the Chattanooga Lookouts 3-1

It looked like there were two different home plate umpires in this one. Cubs batters struck out 14 times and only drew three walks. However, on the mound Cubs pitchers walked nine Chattanooga players and that would ultimately be what led to their demise.

Owen Caissie (OF) went 2-for-4 with two singles and struck out in his other two appearances.

Cole Roederer (OF) went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, and a walk.

Kohl Franklin (RHP) was similar to every other Smokies pitcher in this one in that he struggled with his command. He lasted 4.2 innings and only gave up one run on three hits but he also walked four while striking out seven.

Brailyn Marquez (LHP) has had the wheels fall off in his last three appearances. He was making good progress, avoiding the big inning, but he pitched one inning in this one and gave up two earned runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two. Hopefully, he can put it back together soon because his story is a really good one.
