Iowa Cubs (AAA) (59-42)

The Iowa Cubs lost to the Toledo Mud Hens 8-2

Iowa actually took a 2-1 lead into the top of the seventh but then the wheels fell off. The Cubs got a solid pitching performance out of their starter but failed to get anything going offensively or out of the bullpen as they took the loss in this one.

Miles Mastrobuoni (3B) went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer. He may have been the most irritating player at Wrigley, but he’s carrying a .302 average in Iowa.

Alexander Canario (OF) went 2-for-3 as he continued to ramp up. He’s still not hitting for much power as they were both singles but he also drew a walk.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (OF) is human after all. He went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts but he also drew a walk, stole a base, and played exceptional outfield defense.

Caleb Kilian (RHP) threw six strong innings only allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out six. Unfortunately, the bullpen couldn’t help him.
