Myrtle Beach Pelicans (A) (66-48)

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 9-8

Myrtle Beach won this one in extra innings after tying it up in the bottom of the ninth. It was a great team win and while the pitching performances across the board left much to be desired, there were stellar performances from hitters drafted in 2023 and signed via international free agency.

Rafael Morel (CF) filled the stat sheet by going 2-for-6 with a home run, a single, a stolen base, two RBI and a run scored.

Jefferson Rojas (SS) went 2-for-6 with two doubles, a stolen base and a run scored.

Brett Bateman (OF) went 2-for-4 with two singles, two walks and two runs scored. He’s now batting .318 on the season.

Jonathan Long (3B) was a beast yesterday. He went 4-for-5 with a double, three singles, a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

Keon Moreno (RHP) was the starting pitcher and gave up two runs over three innings on three hits, two walks and he struck out two.
