South Bend Cubs (A+) (50-63)

The South Bend Cubs beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels 6-3

South Bend is the only team in the system that just can’t seem to put it all together on the field and win baseball games. Every team is above .500 except for South Bend but hopefully, that could end with a strong finish led by this impressive 6-3 win.

James Triantos (2B) went 2-for-4 with a double, a single and an RBI.

Ed Howard (SS) went 3-for-4 with three singles and three RBI. This performance increased the former first round pick’s  batting average to .204 on the year.

Moises Ballesteros (C) continued to be a monster. He went 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, an RBI and two runs scored. He’s hitting .307 as a teenage catcher in High-A.

Matt Shaw (SS) went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored. The 2023 first round pick is hitting .358 at High-A and could soon follow Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes with a promotion to AA, although a promotion to the majors like Nolan Schanuel is unlikely.

Tyler Santana (RHP) was solid yesterday. He pitched five innings and only gave up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out three.
