Iowa Cubs (AAA) (69-49)

The Iowa Cubs beat the Indianapolis Indians 10-4

The Cubs continued their incredible season with a big win over the Indians yesterday. They gave up four runs, but not before they’d already built an insurmountable 6-0 lead. In fact even after they gave up two runs in the bottom of the sixth, they turned around to score four of their own and make it 10-2 in the top of the seventh.

Jake Slaughter (3B) went 2-for-5 with a single, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.

Matt Mervis (1B) went 2-for-4 with a single, a home run, a walk, two RBI and three runs scored. It’s nice to see him accessing the power again and he could potentially be in for a return to Wrigley when rosters expand.

Alexander Canario (OF) went 2-for-4 with a single, a home run, two RBI and a run scored.

Shane Greene (RHP) continued to be stretched out as a starter and went five scoreless innings in this one. He gave up four hits and a walk while striking out six to lower his ERA since joining the Cubs to 2.84.

Cam Sanders (RHP) finished out the game with 1.2 scoreless innings and gave up just two hits and struck out two.
