Myrtle Beach Pelicans (A) (49-34)
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Carolina Mudcats 8-0
How about another absolute beatdown? The Pelicans came to play yesterday and again it was the names you wanted to see putting up the production. Myrtle Beach is now 15 games over .500 and they’re only going to be getting stronger as guys from the complex leagues start to get the call.
Andy Garriola (OF) went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in the 4th inning.
Cristian Hernández (SS) went 2-for-4 with a double, a single, and a stolen base. It’s been a rough season as he’s carrying just a .577 OPS but maybe this will help turn it around for the second half.
Rafael Morel (OF) went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored.
Pedro Ramirez (2B) went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Marino Santy (LHP) was the starter and went four scoreless, hitless frames. He did walk four but he also struck out six.
Scarlyn Lebron (RHP) went three perfect innings with two strikeouts.
Starlyn Pichardo (RHP) would have had a great stat line as he went two scoreless innings with a strikeout, but he gave up the only hit of the game.
