Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia has been the star of the American League Championship Series and that has reminded Chicago Cubs fans of an awful trade that the St. Louis Cardinals made in 2019,
Garcia and the Rangers will play the Houston Astros in decisive Game 7 on Monday night with the winner of the game moving on to represent the American League in the World Series. Garcia put the exclamation point on the Rangers' Game 6 victory over the Astros on Sunday night as he launched a Grand Slam in the ninth inning that put the finishing touch on the Rangers' 9-2 victory.
Garcia has been having a phenomenal post-season with the Rangers. In 49 plate appearances, Garcia is slashing .277/.306/.617 with a wRC+ of 146 and 5 home runs.
For the Rangers, they have one team to thank and that is the St. Louis Cardinals. It was in 2019 that the Cardinals gave up on Garcia as they shipped the outfielder to the Rangers in exchange for cash considerations.
Chicago Cubs fans can not help but laugh at how bad of a trade the Adolis Garcia deal was for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Sure, the Cubs have had their share of bad trades but there is a certain joy that fans have watching the team's NL Central counterpart be mocked for such a bad trade.
