Few teams have been as hot as the Chicago Cubs since the All-Star Break, but now they're facing a true test against the Atlanta Braves. Game 1 didn't go their way to say the least, getting shutout by a final score of 8-0.

Can they bounce back in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon, or should we look to be on the game another way?

Let's dive into the odds for the game and then I'll give you my best bet.

Braves vs. Cubs odds, run line, and total

Braves vs. Cubs prediction and pick

We have a high total for this afternoon's National League showdown, but I'm going to zig when the odds are telling us to zag and take the UNDER instead.

Today's game is a battle of strong pitchers as Bryce Elder (3.18 ERA) of the Braves is set to take on Javier Assad (3.24 ERA) of the Cubs. With how both pitchers have been playing of late, tonight's total is set at too high a number.

Assad will be making his second start this season for the Cubs, but he has had plenty of experience pitching multiple innings. He has also allowed just one earned run in his last 22.1 innings pitched. I see no reason why he won't have a strong start this afternoon.

With the total set all the way up at double-digits, I'll gladly back the UNDER.
