BA Top 100 - 74. Alexander Canario
After suffering terrible injuries to his ankle and shoulder in the Dominican Winter League, It's good to still see high praise for Alexander Canario. Between three levels, Canario recorded a line of .252/.343/.556 with 37 HRs and 97 RBIs. On top of that, defensively, he accumulated 212 total putouts between LF, CF, and RF, along with eleven assists and five errors, good for a 0.978 FPCT. Canario will miss the better part of 2023, but at 22 years old, he still has a very high ceiling.
BA Top 100 - 56. Matt Mervis
Nice to see Matt Mervis crack a top 100 list after the stellar season he put together between three different levels last season. Although the signings of both Eric Hosmer and Trey Mancini could delay the inevitable debut of the Cubs' future first baseman, there is nothing wrong with him further honing his skills until he is ready to go in the MLB. In 2022, he slashed a combined .309/.379/.606 with 36 HRs and 119 RBIs. His .297 ISO and 152 wRC+ at Triple-A give him all the potential to succeed at the highest level.
BA Top 100 - 31. Pete Crow-Armstrong
Per usual, Pete Crow-Armstrong tops the list, finding himself as a member of the top 100 and the number one prospect in the Cubs organization. The Future center fielder will likely spend time between Double-A Tennessee and (hopefully) Triple-A Iowa. Between A ball and High-A South Bend, PCA slashed .312/.376/.520 with 16 HR and 61 RBIs. He also recorded 32 stolen bases on the year and a .97 fielding percentage between both levels. Should he keep on his current trajectory, he will soon be contributing to the Cubs at the major league level.
