Keep: LHP Jordan Wicks
Jordan Wicks is arguably the best chance the Cubs have at developing their next big league starter. What sets him apart from Brown, Hayden Wesneski and Caleb Kilian is the fact that the Cubs drafted Wicks and have brought him all the way through their system to the point where he is about to get promoted to the Iowa Cubs. The soft-throwing lefty is dealing this year with a 2.40 ERA in 9 starts this year. Even though he doesn't overpower hitters, Wicks still strikes out a lot of hitters with 174 Ks in 143 minor league innings pitched. I'd expect to see Wicks at Wrigley Field by the end of 2023 whether it be in a starting or bullpen role.
