Save the date Chicago Cubs fans. Every year, fans, players, and more gather in Chicago for one of the most exciting events of the offseason - Cubs Convention. This year's weekend of fun will take place at the Sheraton Grand from January 12-14 and tickets are about to go on sale this Thursday, October 26 at noon CT.
This is the 37th iteration of the convention and attendees can expect many of the same activities as years past. That includes autograph sessions with current and former Cubs, panel discussions with members of the organization, auctions, and plenty of fun for the kiddos. It's generally a highlight of the offseason and a great chance to mingle with fellow Cubs fans and meet players and prospects like Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson, Ian Happ, Pete Crow-Armstong, and more depending on who attends.
Last year marked the return of Cubs Con for the first time since 2020 and it brought with it plenty of highlights. In what was an exciting moment at the time, the Cubs signed first baseman Trey Mancini during the event. It was also the first year since 2019 that the Ricketts Family session was held, making the owners once again available to fans. It seems likely that they'll be back in person this year, especially considering last year's panel was received surprisingly well.
Also returning from last year is the popular youth baseball and softball clinic with current and former Cubs ballplayers as well as coaches from Cubs RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities). Attendees who register before November 9 can get their aspiring young ballplayer entry to the activity on January 14, but spots are only open on a first-come, first-serve basis.
2024 Cubs Convention offers multiple pricing plans for the weekend
Passes for the weekend will be available for $125 which gives access to all activities at Cubs Convention including Cubs Bingo presented by Budweiser. Kids 3-10, however, are getting cheaper entry at only $100. If you're a season ticket holder, the savings come early with passes becoming available for a limited time from noon to 11:59 p.m. CT today, October 25 for $105 for normal passes and $85 for kids passes. However, the cost doesn't take into account any convenience fees. Hotel packages at the Sheraton Grand are also available for the weekend.
Again, the Cubs Convention is a cool opportunity for all who can make it and love this sort of communal convention setting with other fans. Better yet, a portion of the proceeds will go to Cubs Charities. Visit the official website for more information on how to secure your tickets.
