MLB The Show 25 is gearing up for their annual list, and in anticipation, we already have a list of Chicago Cubs legends we would love to see in the game.

Looking beyond our wish list for the game, Cubs fans likely will be eager to play with this year's iteration of the game. For the first time since the Cubs traded away the core of the 2016 World Series team, the team has one of the game's top-rated players on their roster. Not only is Kyle Tucker one of the best players in Major League Baseball, he is one the best position players in MLB The Show 25.

Tucker is an example of how MLB The Show 25 hopes to extend its realism beyond gameplay on the field. Franchise mode has been a staple of the MLB The Show franchise. This year, Franchise Mode underwent changes as the game's developers looked to capture the true feel of being a general manager in the offseason.

MLB's free agency process is at the center of changes made to MLB The Show 25 this year. Simply put, don't expect Tucker to sign with the Miami Marlins in the offseason of your franchise mode. Beyond that, the game's development team used real-life projections to determine the contract structures in franchise mode. If their demo on Thursday was any example, it may be painfully realistic.

Yes, that is Tucker signing a 10-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth $397.1MM. Again, I mention, the free agency logic in MLB The Show 25 may be painfully accurate. You also might wonder, were the Cubs even involved in the bidding. the new logic also allows you to see the teams the free agent is rumored to be talking to.

As much as Cubs fans may want to yell at the clouds about this simulation not being accurate, the Cubs, themselves, have provided enough reasons to believe to be true.

Fortunately, in MLB The Show 25, it's not Tom Ricketts or Jed Hoyer who is in charge of the Cubs' spending; it is you. Meaning, for all your anger at the Dodgers, MLB The Show 25 is where you can outspend them in every way while making the Cubs what they should be: a big-market behemoth.
