Pete Crow-Armstrong has arrived. That has been the theme of the 2025 season for the Chicago Cubs as Crow-Armstrong's breakout season has taken center stage for a Cubs team that has ascended toward being one of the best teams in the National League. With each passing game, Crow-Armstrong adds another highlight to his catalog, only furthering the idea that he will be at the center of this Cubs' core for many years to come.

Crow-Armstrong's latest heroics came during the Cubs' 5-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. In the top of the 8th inning last night, as the Cubs were holding onto a 4-3 lead, Crow-Armstrong made an incredible diving catch in center field to rob Brice Turang of what was looking to be an extra-base hit to the gap between center and left field.

Crow-Armstrong's defense was his calling card, as he was ascending through the Cubs' farm system. The one thing that was certain for Crow-Armstrong was that once he arrived on the Major League level, he would instantly become one of the best defensive outfielders in all of baseball. However, the argument might be over. Crow-Armstrong is the best defensive outfielder in baseball.

The unknown for Crow-Armstrong was how his offense would translate to the Major League level. Crow-Armstrong had the speed to create chaos on the base paths, but it wasn't clear if there was going to be power to go along with his offensive approach. Crow-Armstrong has loudly silenced that fear this season.

Pete Crow-Armstrong's MVP moment might’ve come faster than anyone imagined

No less than 10 minutes after Crow-Armstrong made that incredible defensive play, the Cubs' center fielder launched a mammoth home run that hit the right field scoreboard. No, not the video screen that is just beyond the basket right field, we're talking about the right field scoreboard that has been deemed Kyle Schwarber territory. After Tuesday, it might now be known as Crow-Armstrong territory.

There's no longer a question: Crow-Armstrong is a legitimate MVP candidate. After Tuesday's showcase, Crow-Armstrong enters Wednesday with a 3.9 fWAR, the highest of any player in the National League.
