Coming off a dominant performance against the Dodgers this week, the Chicago Cubs are on quite the roll. They currently sit at 16-10 atop the NL Central and are 7-3 over their last 10 games. With the struggling Phillies coming to town, Friday's matchup was a chance for Chicago to make a statement to the rest of the league that they are a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, it appears as though the weather has other plans today.

While it would nice to enjoy some Friday afternoon Cubs baseball against an opponent that is very motivated uninterrupted, fans will have to wait as we are in a rain delay against the Phillies.

**UPDATE 3:18 PM CST/4:18 PM EST**

Looks like they are going to try and get some of this game in at 3:30 PM CST, although that looks a bit optimistic with the weather in the area.

Cubs vs. Phillies Rain Delay: Latest updates on the forecast and when the game will start

So the bad news is there is not a specific game start time at the moment as the teams await word from the weather powers that be. A cursory look at the radar shows a pretty substantial wave of storms slowly rolling through the area over the next couple of hours. For those of you at Wrigley wanting to watch the game, we suggest getting comfortable somewhere that is dry and safe.

That being said, it does look like the weather should pass by at some point today and the two teams should be able to get this game in thanks in large part to how early it was set to start to begin with. Unless the unforeseen happens or the field itself gets wrecked, we should be able to see Colin Rea take on Taijuan Walker at some point today despite the crummy weather.

As more details and updates are made available from the team, we will update this post so that you have all the information you need as to when this game is going to get started and what to expect.
