Given how easy the Milwaukee Brewers handled the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 and Game 2 of the NLDS, it's safe to say that fans aren't exactly feeling the vibes ahead of Game 3 at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night. The Cubs are facing an elimination game, and on Wednesday morning, the team shared a hype video that some fans mistakenly took as the standard "Thank you, fans" post that teams usually share once their season is over.

The Cubs hosted all three games of their National League Wild Card series against the San Diego Padres last week, and as Pat Hughes put it, the atmosphere at Wrigley Field may have eclipsed what was felt during the team's World Series in 2016. With Wednesday's game and a potential Game 4 on Thursday night being at The Friendly Confines, it makes sense that the Cubs leaned into the fact that playoff baseball has returned to the North Side.

Of course, not everyone thought that was the vibe of the Cubs' post. One fan questioned if the Cubs' social media was already getting a start on their end-of-the-season work, and the Cubs were quick to respond.

Cubs weren’t subtle trolling the fan who jumped ship before Game 3

As encouraging as it is to see that the Cubs' social media hasn't given up on the season, this is far from the same team that overcame a 3-1 deficit in the World Series in 2016. In fact, since then, the Cubs' offense has mostly been dormant in the playoffs.

Jameson Taillon will be taking the mound for the Cubs tonight, and the last time he was faced with a must-win situation, he delivered. Of course, that won't mean much if the heart of the Cubs' lineup continues to look lifeless. Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki have done their part, but the Cubs will need Kyle Tucker and Pete Crow-Armstrong to find their approach if they are going to come back against the Brewers. Otherwise, there will be a "Thank you, fan moment" coming from the Cubs' social media team.
