WWE Survivor Series: War Games is taking place at Petco Park this weekend in San Diego, and as Chicago native CM Punk prepares for the event, he has offered a dream scenario for Chicago Cubs fans. WWE has made a habit of hosting its premium live events at outdoor venues, and Punk's dream scenario is for Wrigley Field to play host to such an event.

Of course, Punk is no stranger to the Cubs or Wrigley Field. When he is not on the road with WWE during the summer, he can often be seen in the bleachers at Wrigley Field. Considering the reaction Punk gets when WWE is at the United Center, the pop he would receive if he were ever wrestling at Wrigley Field would be unmatched.

During a recent interview with Barstool Sports, Punk made the case for Wrigley Field to play host to a WWE event. The way Punk made it sound, it sounds like the Cubs would welcome the idea, but Major League Baseball could be standing in the way.

Given that Major League Baseball doesn't have a set date with which they announce the regular season schedule each year, the impression from Punk is that WWE doesn't have enough time, once the schedule is revealed, to coordinate the plans.

CM Punk and WWE are looking to bring a WWE event to Wrigley Field, but Major League Baseball isn't cooperating.

While it would be easy to schedule an outdoor event at Petco Park in November, given the weather in Chicago, Wrigley Field doesn't offer that same luxury. Tongue in cheek, it's why Punk revealed that he was rooting for the Dodgers in the World Series, as a way to further push the speculation that there will be a work stoppage in 2027. A scenario that could easily lead to WWE having one of their tentpole events, SummerSlam, at The Friendly Confines.

It's already a scary thought, thinking about the idea that there might not be a baseball in 2027. But if the silver lining is watching Punk in Chicago, performing at Wrigley Field, we might be able to spare our misery for a day.
